Political Ads on Mass Mopars
Jan 18th, 2010, 2:19pm

I am all for voicing ones opinion about politics, good, bad or republican  Smiley

But I cant see the point in political ads on here. I come here to avoid that crap, so I had the webmistress remove the post about Scott Brown.

We can discuss it all day and all night, but lets not go any further then that.  Shocked

Let us know what you want/dont want as far as content and subject matter...I always figured anything is cool as long as it doesn't degenerate into name calling and arguments among the members...

I really have no problems with much of anything when it comes to discussing politics, hey it brings out the best of everyone, right.
But that was just way to much like spam, even the webmistress thought so, so we decided to remove it for the sake of continuity, we delete all the other spam.

Now I will say, if it was something posted as a "discussion", or started off as one, and that was posted, then it would have stayed, and I would have jumped right in after it, and offered my views on it, but that wasn't the case.

So again, post whatever about whatever, and if it gets to name calling and arguments, I will probably be right in the middle of it !  Roll Eyes

I have no interest in banning anything, nor censoring anything, but I come one her to relax, and stay away from all the other BS on the intertubes.   Wink

The OP in question was boiler-plate advertisement. Copypasta. If it were a thinking member expressing his opinions to the community for discussion, that would be cool. What isn't cool is pasting the content of a political flier or a robocall into an OP and calling that a thread. It's comparable to any other sort of spammed advertisement. If y'all wanna talk about big-screen TVs, awesome, but I'm deleting hit-and-run advertisements for big-screen TVs.

Would just like to say a big THANK YOU to the powers that be. I fully agree with what was said in this thread. Start any topic you like and if someone feels so inclined, they can jump in, or they can stay away, whichever they choose. But that was clearly an advertisement.

Thanks again, guys! Keep up the good and fair work!

Although I voted for Scott Brown, I thought that was spam and I think I posted that. If the poster was even a regular member and thought he had something to say, that would have been all right. That was a political ad, pure and simple. There are plenty of forums just for that.
